Announcement Change of fund type and benchmark of SCBEV

       SCB Asset Management Company Limited would like to inform the unitholder that SCB Electric Vehicles and Future Mobility (SCBEV) has been approved by the Securities and Exchange Commission Office (SEC) on fund type change to be aligned with the investment portfolio including benchmark change to be aligned with the new fund type. Such change will be effective from 1 November 2025 onwards per following details.

Investment Policy

The Fund is a feeder fund investing mainly in the investment units of KraneShares Electric Vehicles & Future Mobility Index ETF (the Master Fund) managed by Krane Funds Advisors, LLC and listed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE).

The Master Fund seeks to provide investment results that, before fees and expenses, correspond generally to the price and yield performance of the Bloomberg Electric Vehicles Index (the Underlying Index). The Master Fund will invest at least 80% of its total assets in components of the Underlying Index, depositary receipts, including American depositary receipts (“ADRs”), representing such components, securities underlying depositary receipts in the Underlying Index and instruments that have economic characteristics similar to securities included in the Underlying Index. 

The Fund will have an average net exposure in investment units of the Master Fund, in an accounting period at least 80% of the Fund’s NAV

The Fund mainly invests in the investment units of foreign funds such as CIS and/or ETF that mainly invest in securities and/or equities of companies engaged in businesses related to electric vehicles and/or their components, energy storage technologies, driving technologies, lithium cobalt and/or copper production, lithium-ion/lead acid batteries, hydrogen fuel cell manufacturing, electric infrastructure businesses and/or other emerging technologies that are expected to transform future travel and transportation.

The Fund will have an average net exposure in investment units of foreign funds having characteristics as mentioned above, in an accounting period at least 80% of the Fund’s NAV and will invest at least 2 foreign funds, with an average investment in each fund not exceeding 79% of the Fund’s NAV in any accounting period. Investment Proportion in investment units of foreign funds depends on the fund managers’ discretion.
Management Style SCBEV has a passive management strategy aiming to achieve performance close to the Master Fund while the Master Fund also has a passive management strategy aiming to achieve performance close to the benchmark. SCBEV aims to achieve higher performance than the Benchmark Index (Active Management)
Benchmark The Master Fund’s performance: 100% Bloomberg Electric Vehicles Total Return Index: 100%

 

       The above change is made to ensure that the Fund’s investment proportion is in compliance with the SEC’s regulations. However, SCBEV sill remains majority of the portfolio in KraneShares Electric Vehicles & Future Mobility Index ETF.
