Announcement Amendment to investment guideline of SCBSMART2 and SCBNKY225

      This is to notify that the Securities and Exchange Commission has approved the amendment to the Investment guideline of the above mentioned Funds on 12 July 2018, regarding share classes (SCBSMART2) and the purchase of unit linked product. The purpose is to provide an alternative to unitholders, details are as follow:

The fund shall have the following share classes:

  1. Accumulative Class : (SCBSMART2A)
    Suitable for investors who seeking to receive return through the increase of the total value of investment units (Total return)
  2. Auto-redemption Class : (SCBSMART2R)
    Suitable for investors seeking to receive periodic cash flows via automatic redemption of fund units
  3.  Dividend Class : (SCBSMART2)
    Suitable for investors seeking to receive periodic cash flows via dividend payments
  4. Individual/Group Class : (SCBSMART2P)
    Suitable for individual, group of individuals, juristic person or institution seeking capital gain. This share class will initially be limited to unitholders who are SCBAM’s private fund and/or provident fund clients until further notice.

Redemption of fund units

The redemption method is divided into 2 types :

  • At unitholder’s discretion: unitholders of all share classes can place redemption order.
  • Automatic redemption: automatic redemption will be done for unitholders in auto-redemption share class only. The Management Company will automatically redeem the investment unit to the unitholders no more than twice a year. The redemption amount and redemption payment will be at the discretion of the Management Company. The Management Company will automatically redeem investment units based on return on investment and / or principal

 

       Other sections in the investment guideline that shall be amended in relation to share classes include Definitions, subsequent  offering, redemption of units, switching of units, dividend payment, Fees and Expenses charged to the Fund and the Purchaser or the Unitholder, Calculation Method, Calculation period, AUM, NAV and fund price announcement, Procedures when NAV is calculated incorrectly, Procedure when seeking approval from unitholders and Procedure to amend or change the investment guideline.

Redemption payment Add information about the redemption of funds: redemption payment will be paid within 5 business days from the date of calculation of asset value, nav per unit, selling and redemption price of investment unit of such Redemption Date by not include holidays in foreign countries. Adding information of the purchase of unit linked 

 To provide an alternative to unitholders to purchase unit linked product or so-called: life insurance policy with mutual fund. The life insurance company will take the money of unitholders who purchase the life insurance policy to invest in such funds. The unitholders who want to invest through the channel of unit linked product have to contact the insurance company or its agents directly.

 

       The name of insurance company and investment conditions will be announced through SCBAM’s website at www.scbam.com prior to the opening of the service.
