SCB Asset Management Company Limited (SCBAM) would like to notify all unitholders that SCBAM has received the approval from the Securities and Exchange Commission of Thailand (the SEC Office) on 23rd December 2020 to amend the mutual fund scheme regarding the adjustment to the Fund Type According to Special Characteristics of the SCB Global Population Trend Fund (SCBPOP), details as follows:
Existing | New |
Fund Type According to Special Characteristics: - Fund of Funds |
Fund Type According to Special Characteristics: - Feeder Fund
|
At inception, SCBPOP was originally planned as a Feeder Fund with Fidelity Global Demographics Fund as its single master fund. However, SCBAM had concerns over the fund size of the then recently launched Fidelity Global Demographics Fund as it may not be able to handle the concentration limit required by the SEC Office. Certain parts of SCBPOP were therefore allocated to Candriam Equities L Demography which had similar investment policies of thematic global equity investment with a focus on demographic trends.
As of now, Fidelity Global Demographics Fund’s value has reached 833 million USD (data as of 30th October 2020). Along with the fund’s consistent outperformance, SCBAM has decided to amend the investment policy of SCBPOP into a Feeder Fund in order to invest in Fidelity Global Demographics Fund as a single master fund to enhance the clarity of SCBPOP’s investment policy and opportunity for outperformance.
The amendment shall be effective from 1st February 2021 onwards. Unitholders may contact Customer Relations at Tel. 0-2777-7777 ext. 0 ext. 6 during business days between 08.30 – 17.00 for any further inquiry.
